Congo _ Villa La Mer
BRIEF
Villa La Mer is a private residence in Congo designed to embody harmony between contemporary architecture and the surrounding natural landscape. The concept originated from the client’s vision of a home that reflects a balanced lifestyle—where luxury meets simplicity, and modernity resonates with timeless authenticity.
The overall masterplan is organized around an open axial layout, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. The main façade highlights a pure volumetric composition with refined horizontal and vertical lines, enriched by natural materials such as wood and stone. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing blurs the boundaries between interior living spaces and the gardens, creating an immersive experience of natural light and framed views.
Inside, the villa showcases meticulous interior detailing: elegant marble finishes, integrated ambient lighting that emphasizes architectural lines, and bespoke furniture pieces designed to enhance cohesion. The interiors flow fluidly from public areas—such as the formal living room, reception zones, and open kitchen—towards the private quarters, offering both openness and intimacy.
Outdoor living forms a defining layer of the project: sunken fire lounges, landscaped gardens, recreational courts, and rooftop terraces that transform into social hubs for open-air cinema and gatherings. These elements are not decorative additions but integral to the architectural vision, grounding the family’s lifestyle in nature.
Villa La Mer is more than a single-family home—it is a holistic architectural experience designed to inspire daily life. From the monumental entrance framed by natural features to the smallest crafted detail, the project reflects a pursuit of balance, comfort, beauty, and sustainability.
